The Alliance of Healthcare Unions and Kaiser Permanente have teamed up to deliver an educational session about Monkeypox. There will be three presenters from KP on the medical and workplace safety issues related to monkeypox. They are the national KP leaders working on this issue. The meeting will include an opportunity to ask questions and dialogue. Urgent Care and ED Extra Shift Incentives which expired at 7:00 am, on August 31, 2022, have been extended. The new sunset date is 7 am on October 1, 2022. All other terms and conditions remain the same as the current originating ESIs for the following:

The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region is experiencing a high Urgent Care and Emergency Department patient census resulting in an increased demand for staffing as a result of COVID-19 impacts. Faced with this challenge, Southern California Permanente Medical Group (“SCPMG”) leadership and USW 7600 agreed to temporarily offer an "Extra Shift Incentive" to induce employees in the following Licensed Vocational Nurse and Medical Assistant classifications to work extra “message management” shifts in departments under SCPMG as specifically listed below:
