The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region is experiencing a high increase in patient census resulting in an increased demand for staffing. Faced with this challenge, Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) leadership and USW 7600 agreed to temporarily offer an "Extra Shift Incentive" to induce employees in the above-mentioned classifications to work additional shifts.
You made it clear that we were not going to accept 2-tier wages for new hires, that we needed progress on WAGE JUSTICE in the IE, and that we deserved more than 1%.
In response, we joined together like never before, in unity and solidarity, and showed the world that we were willing to do whatever it took to get a fair contract.
