News and Bargaining Updates

Congratulations to Our President Valery Robinson Awarded  Community Service  Medal by NAACP in recognition for her hard work and dedication to our community.

USW 7600 along with the Alliance reached a strong TA with good wage increases, better benefits, and new LMP and Educational Trusts! This resounding victory would not have been possible without YOU stepping up and making your voice heard!

To learn exactly what our new National Agreement means for you and your family attend one of the following ratification meetings where you can ask questions and cast your vote.

After careful preparation, months of organizing in unprecedented numbers, and long days and nights in negotiating sessions stretching from May to September, we have finally secured a strong tentative agreement (TA) that met our key goals: a good wage increase, better benefits, new LMP and educational trust funds for our Alliance union members, and a plan to get our LMP back on track.

National negotiations continued from Monday morning until Wednesday evening, when the parties agreed to call for a break in ongoing talks.

We addressed many issues including unresolved issues from local bargaining, pay raises, educational benefits, dental coverage improvements, retiree medical coverage, and a process to get the Partnership back on track.

Bargaining will continue shortly as the parties work to reach a final settlement before the expiration of our National Agreement on September 30.

With the expiration of the National Agreement looming at the end of the month, negotiations will resume in Los Angeles on Monday, September 17.

Some progress has been made in prior rounds of talks, but there is a lot of ground to cover in a short time. The meeting will be at the Sheraton Gateway near LAX.

Make your voice heard on Monday!

Since we'll be bargaining on Monday, please wear your union colors on Monday next week. Be sure to you're talking to co-workers and supervisors about the key issues.

A big thank you to everyone that made it to our second-annual Labor Day event.

Check out some photos from the day below!

After two more days of negotiating on August 28 and 29, the Alliance Unions and KP were not able to agree on a comprehensive economic settlement, sending the sides back to the table on September 17.

We are united and ready to do what we have to do to get a wage increase for all our members, protect our benefits, and get our partnership back on track with a realistic and workable plan.

On Tuesday, August 28, national bargaining will resume in Los Angeles. If you haven’t yet signed our bargaining pledge, please sign now!
