News and Bargaining Updates

We fought hard to win a strong 2018 Alliance National Agreement and protect our Labor Management Partnership. Now we want to hear your perspective on how partnership is working in your clinic department, hospital floors, office or facility and how it can be improved.

You should have received an email recently from InsideKP asking you to take an important survey. The survey is called for under our new National Agreement, and is a joint effort between Alliance Unions and KP.

Good news for Alliance Union members across Kaiser: our retroactive pay will be finally coming in this week’s paychecks.

This retroactive amount in the upcoming paycheck will cover the raise from October 1 until the raise was actually included in your regular paycheck. Congratulations to everyone who stood up for the Union last summer – wearing buttons and union colors, rallying at your facility and at bargaining, and signing petitions – for helping us win strong new contracts!

Union-negotiated Retroactive Pay – retroactive to October 1 – will be in February 1 paychecks!

We're excited to announce that we've begun bargaining for the newsest members of Local 7600!

To those newly-organized members, also known as Status 5 employees, everything related to your work should remain status quo as we go through the bargaining process.

Time-off granting should be done as before; and if any position becomes vacant, it should be posted as USW 7600.

As you know, the Alliance of Health Care Unions (AHCU) reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser, which USW Local 7600 overwhelmingly voted to ratify in early October. A provision of that union-negotiated agreement included a 3% wage increase to be implemented on October 1, 2018.

The AHCU is made up of more than 20 locals across the United States. All of which have their own bylaws for how contract ratification happens. Unfortunately, that means some members of the Alliance have not completed the ratification process yet.
