We are pleased to announce that KP will apply to participate in the California State Hospital and Skilled Nursing Facility COVID-19 Worker Retention Payments program. As a result, many of KP’s employees and physicians who worked in qualifying facilities will be eligible to receive a retention payment if they meet the state’s minimum eligibility and working requirements. Please read below for more details.

The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region is experiencing a high increase in Respiratory Care patient census resulting in an increased demand for staffing result of COVID-19 impacts. Faced with this challenge, Southern California Permanente Medical Group (“SCPMG”) leadership and USW 7600 agreed to temporarily offer an "Extra Shift Incentive" to induce Employees in the following specified SCPMG classifications to work extra shifts under SCPMG in the Respiratory Care Departments as specifically listed below.
