Pause on Partnership
October 8, 2025

Dear Members,

In solidarity with our Alliance siblings, USW Local 7600 is pausing participation in Labor Management Partnership (LMP) activities effective immediately and until further notice. We have taken this coordinated action because of Kaiser Permanente’s consistent pattern of delays, scripted responses, and lack of genuine engagement at the bargaining table — despite the 10-day notice of our intent to strike if we do not reach an agreement on a fair contract.

The Partnership was built to solve problems together and improve care. After 28 years, the results speak for themselves: partnership has strengthened Kaiser’s quality, affordability, safety, and patient satisfaction. But partnership only works when both sides are committed. When leadership stops listening, partnership stops working.

As part of this pause, our union will not be participating in activities such as Labor Management Partnership Councils, Workplace Safety Committees, Attendance Committees, Healthy Workforce programs, Education and Training, Unit-Based Teams (UBTs) and their projects, and Workforce of the Future initiatives. This list is not exhaustive — we reserve the right to pause additional LMP activities as needed.

We will continue to take part in issue resolution meetings, contractual meetings as outlined in our agreements, and to file and process grievances. Our focus remains on protecting members’ rights and holding Kaiser accountable to the principles that made this partnership successful in the first place.

We built this Partnership on vision, courage, and authenticity. If Kaiser Permanente intends to remain a national leader in healthcare, those values must be restored — now.
Kaiser must do better immediately to recognize the value of the partnership and its workforce.

In Solidarity,

Micheal Barnett
President, USW Local 7600
