What to Know Before You Head Out to Picket

• Strike starts: Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 AM.
• Working before 7:00 AM Tuesday? Report as normal. At 7:00 AM, end your shift using normal procedures.
• Where to picket: You may picket at any location listed below. Sign up for the 7:00 AM shift at that site (or later if needed).
• Legal compliance: Picket only on public sidewalks or clearly designated picket areas. Do not block or impede driveways, doors, loading areas, ambulance/ER routes, or traffic. Keep crosswalks clear and follow instructions from Picket Captains and public safety.
• Check in: On arrival, you must check in with a Picket Captain for attendance and assignment.
• Bring: Water bottle, hat, sunscreen or umbrella/pancho (if it rains), weather gear, comfortable shoes. We’ll provide water/snacks when possible.
• Can’t picket?  Please fill out this form
• Saturday: We’ll consolidate at the three medical centers, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM for a family-friendly union action.
• Questions? Contact your CAT member or a Picket Captain.
• Parking: We can’t park in any KP-owned parking facilities, so you’ll need to look for public parking.
• Please consider carpooling to help ease parking congestion, especially in the mornings.
• Our union has been working hard on identifying designated parking options, and will continue to work on it! If you have a suggestion or know a local business we could work with, please let us know! We’ll keep you updated about it.

Our strike will start today at 7:00 AM. Do NOT show up to picket any location before 7:00 AM.

If you’re scheduled to work in the morning before 7:00 AM, report to work as normal and end your shift at 7:00 AM following normal procedures. If you have any issues getting relief at 7:00 AM, contact your Union Rep.

If you haven’t signed up for your three picket shifts yet, we still need you—there are spots available. This will be a historic show of solidarity, and it’ll take all of us to win!

• Victorville: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Palm Court I & II: 8 AM – 5 PM
• Ontario Medical Center: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Riverside Medical Center: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Heacock: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Iris: 6:30 AM – 7 PM (except Tue: strike begins at 7 AM — do not arrive before 7 AM on Tue)
• Palm Desert: 8 AM – 5 PM
• Murrieta: 6:30 AM – 7 PM (except Tue: strike begins at 7 AM — do not arrive before 7 AM on Tue)
