Below are today’s updates for physicians and staff:

1.    MandatoryTemperature Taking has begun at some of our locations, and will begin on Monday, March 30, 6:00 a.m. at Riverside and Moreno Valley Medical Centers.

3.    Flu Masking Ended for 2019-2020 Flu Season - With the decreasing cases of flu in the region, and the concern for shortage of masks during this COVID-19 outbreak, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is rescinding its masking mandate for health care workers who are unvaccinated for influenza. In light of this action, Kaiser Permanente Southern California has made a regionwide decision to no longer require health care workers, who have not received a flu shot, to wear masks for the remainder of the 2019-2020 flu season. This decision is effective immediately. 

4.    Workflow for Employees and Physicians with concerns regarding exposure to COVID-19.  Please click here to read this important message 

5.    Target Clinics Closing -Please note that the Target Clinics are being affected. Effective today – all Target Clinics will be closed to both members and non-members. Attached is a copy of the signage that will appear on the stores. We are working to making changes on the web properties. Call Centers are also not booking appt to Target Clinics. If you have questions – Delicia Jones (Marketing) and Sheena Ashok (SCPMG Operations) can be helpful. 

6.    Surge Planning Update – Your Medical Center Administrative Team and Leaders have begun planning for any surge as soon as it may occur.  We will communicate more to you about this as soon as a plan is finalized.

 7.    Eye Protection Conservation Guidelines – As with all our PPE, eye protection needs to be maintained for optimal effectiveness.  Click here to read the guidelines. If you are in need goggles, please speak to your manager. 

8.    Supply Donation Form and Liability Release - On behalf of Riverside MCAT – Thank you all for    the support and help in bringing in donations that are really helpful at this time of great need.  Please reach out to command center for any donation related questions.  Attached is the form that needs to be filled out for all donations. 9.    EAP SCAL Employee & Manager Drop-in Support Calls  -  EAP will be offering several drop-in support group calls each week for employees, managers and physicians beginning 3/30. Physician support group communication was sent out from Dr. Dawn Clark. I have attached the communication in both Word and PDF for both employees and managers in SCAL. Physicians, managers and employees will have separate dedicated support group calls. Information from the Word document is designed so it can be embedded in emails for ease of access vs having to click an attachment. 

10.  QBS Orientation | Class Canceled.  Please click here to read the notification 

11.  Using Teams for Communications.  Managers, please consider using Teams to     communicate COVID updates that roll out frequently. This can also be a forum for staff to ask clarifying questions and all staff will get the answer.
